Release notes
Videorc 0.9.14 Beta 1
The detached Comments window works again, notifications stop covering the bottom bar, source pickers always say what's going on, and the light theme got a real contrast pass.
Comments window fixed, clearer controls, a readable light theme
- The detached Comments window shows your comments again — it broke when fed a saved session's transcript.
- Notifications no longer cover the bottom command bar, and repeated source warnings collapse into one.
- Source pickers always tell you what's happening — finding devices, none found, or a saved device that's gone.
- The light theme is easier to read — darker text, clearer borders and controls.
- Settings now shows the full name of each macOS permission target instead of cutting it off.
Comments window works again
The detached Comments window — your second-monitor live-chat reader — broke when it received a saved session's transcript. It renders everything again, live or from the Library.
Controls that say what they mean
- Source pickers never sit empty anymore: they say "Finding devices…", "No devices found — check System Access in Settings", or "Saved device unavailable — pick another" — whatever is actually going on.
- Compact controls in the Studio show short, readable values like "2K · 1440p30" instead of truncated dimensions.
- Settings shows the full name of each macOS permission target, so you know exactly what to grant.
Quieter, better-placed notifications
Notifications sit above the bottom command bar instead of on top of it, and repeated "source unavailable" warnings collapse into a single message. When Videorc swaps a capture source automatically, the details stay visible in Sources until you've seen them.
Light theme contrast pass
Darker secondary text, clearer borders, and more visible controls — the light theme now reads at a glance.
Fixes
- A rare crash dialog ("write EPIPE") when the app's logging pipe went away can no longer take Videorc down.
