Release notes
Videorc 0.9.5 Beta 1
0.9.5 fixes captions carrying over from the previous video, keeps the docked preview from lingering on other tabs, repairs background uploads, makes the audio mixer move while you speak, cleans up the Studio and Scene pages, and enforces multistreaming as a Premium feature end to end.
Captions stay with their video, and a big batch of polish
- Captions belong to their video — no more lines from the previous recording burned into a new one.
- The docked preview now fully leaves the screen when you switch tabs, and comes back on Studio.
- Background uploads work — imported images no longer show a false "Missing" badge.
- The audio mixer meters live while you record or stream.
- An update notice appears in the sidebar when a new version is ready.
- Multistreaming now correctly unlocks with Premium — and only with Premium.
Captions stay with their video
Recording several captioned videos in a row could burn the previous video's last caption into the start of the next one. Fixed at the root: caption display state now resets for every session, late transcripts from a previous video are rejected everywhere, and a new session can never inherit a caption bar.
Docked preview, refined
- Switching tabs (including ⌘1–⌘9) now takes the docked preview off screen completely — nothing lingers over other pages — and it returns the moment you're back on Studio.
- The "Open preview" placeholder is now exactly the size of the preview itself, so the Studio layout doesn't jump when you open, stick, or close it.
Backgrounds and assets
Imported background images showed a "Missing" badge and refused to display, even though the file was saved correctly. They now load reliably, and "Missing" only ever appears when a file is genuinely gone from disk.
A calmer, clearer Studio
- The yellow setup warnings are gone from the top of the Studio; if something blocks recording or going live, the reason now sits right next to the disabled button, with a link to the page that fixes it.
- The audio mixer shows a live level while you record or stream — you can see your mic working at a glance. When idle, "Check level" still gives you an instant reading.
- With captions on, the leftover instructional sentence is gone.
Scene page, simplified
- The confusing "Scene sources" list is gone — the stage diagram is the source list. Click a source on the stage to edit it; visibility lives in the inspector.
- Selecting a full-screen source no longer shows a panel of dead arrows — it plainly says the position is fixed for that layout.
Library and updates
- Recording problems in the Library are now a compact issue badge — hover to see the details instead of scrolling past a wall of warnings.
- When an update is available, a notice appears at the bottom of the sidebar; one click restarts into the new version when it's ready.
Multistreaming is Premium
Streaming to more than one destination at once now properly unlocks with a Premium subscription — signed-in Premium accounts get it automatically, and it stays locked otherwise, with a clear upgrade path on each additional destination.
